Hazelnuts are the kind of nut that rewards you with more flavour the more you pay attention to them. There is a warm toasty richness to a good hazelnut that is deeply satisfying and distinctly different from other nuts. They have a natural affinity with chocolate which is why they feature in so many beloved confections, but eaten on their own they are genuinely remarkable.

At Noha Harvest we source hazelnuts that are full-flavoured and properly fresh. Stale hazelnuts have a rancid oiliness that is immediately off-putting. Fresh hazelnuts should smell warm and nutty when you open the pack, not unpleasant.
